How to get to Rauischholzhausen Castle Conference Centre

The nearest international airport is Frankfurt Airport, about 80 km south to Rauischholzhausen. From there you can either take a train, or, if you prefer, rent a car.

by train
Inside the terminal, please follow the signs down to the train station below the airport (the train station is below Terminal 1; if you arrive at Terminal 2 you have to go first to Terminal 1 via SkyLine, which is free of charge). You can either buy the train ticket to Marburg at the desk you pass on your way down to the platforms or directly at the platform (the RMV - the local public transport company - code for Marburg is 0501). Alternatively you can come to Giessen first using the same train connections. You have to take a train (S-Bahn) to Frankfurt Central Station (roughly every 10 to 15 minutes). At Frankfurt Central Station you will arrive at one of the underground platforms. To change trains, you have to go upstairs to the main platforms. There, the best is to take the so-called Regionalexpress (RE) to Marburg (roughly ? minutes after the full hour), the travelling time is about one hour. There will be a bus shuttle from the train station in Marburg to Rauischholzhausen - but not very frequent and not in the evening.

by rental car
Inside the terminal, there are offices of all international as well as some local car rental companies. After getting the car, follow the signs to the direction Kassel or Hannover, this will bring you to the A5 (Autobahn - highway - number 5) going north. Continue at ARRIVAL BY CAR.

The fastest possibility to go to Giessen or to Marburg (the nearest train stations to Rauischholzhausen) by train is to use the so-called Regionalexpress (RE, from the south via Frankfurt, from the north via Kassel). Then take a taxi to arrive at the conference location (Schloss Rauischholzhausen) in 20-25 minutes. For details, please check the time table of the Deutsche Bahn AG.

The village Rauischholzhausen is on half way between Giessen and Marburg (you may want to have a look on a road map or an overview map, please klick on the map on the right). Usually, you will be either on the A5 or the A45. Follow the signs until you reach the Giessener Ring (a highway ring around Giessen). Leave the ring at the exit Giessener Nordkreuz, direction Marburg. You can either use the B3 or the smaller road parallel to it. In both cases, leave the road at the exit Ebsdorfer Grund. Now, follow the street strait ahead for about 10 km. You will pass Erbenhausen, Hachborn, Ebsdorf, Heskem, and Wittelsberg. Finally, you will reach Rauischholzhausen. Inside the village, follow the signs Schloß (castle), they will lead you to the parking area of the castle. Leave your car there and walk a few meters down to the castle. Do not forget to print the map on right.
